Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick made a surprise visit to New Horizons school in Durham last week, signing autographs and admonishing the students to stay out of trouble. Vick, who was convicted and sentenced to a prison term for dog fighting, has teamed up with the Humane Society as an advocate for animals and as a speaker to at-risk youth. Durham Raiders football players Chad Walcott, left, Jason McClairy, center, and Rashaud Trice heard Vick speak on making good decisions. One even told the story about how the famous QB's mistake helped him turn his life around. Read the entire story and see which one on page 3A.
