• Pork, Pickles and Peanuts is a taste of North Carolina. Give a hand at Duke Homestead with this “Second Saturdays” festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Pitch in to help Habitat for Humanity with the Bull Moon Bike Ride, July 14. Help with registration, watch at intersections and pass out water. The ride begins at 8:30 p.m. To volunteer, contact volunteer@durhamhabitat.org.
• Help a child improve his/her reading skills this summer by giving one hour of your time to the Summer Reading Program at the Salvation Army. Contact Tracey at tracey.bragg@uss.salvationarmy.org.
• Learn how to find information about volunteer opportunities in the Triangle online at our July General Volunteer Orientation at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the North Regional Library at 221 Milton Road. Representatives from two area nonprofits will be on hand to share.
