• Target has given money for school supplies to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army now needs volunteers to help each child go shopping! Be a shopping escort and help a child select what he/she needs for school. Contact Tracey at 919-688-7306.
• Do you like to answer the phone? Senior PharmAssist needs a front desk receptionist for Tuesday afternoons from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Call Dyana at 919-688-4772.
• Read to young children or rock a baby. Pitch in with child care during the Welcome Baby parenting classes for two to three hours during the week. Weekday morning and evening assignments are available. Call Von Brown at 919-560-7340.
• Do you have a passion for helping the children of incarcerated mothers? MATCH (Mothers and Their Children) will hold a Volunteer Training on Tuesday, Aug. 28. from 9 a.m. to noon.
• Are you interested in volunteering, but don’t know how to start? Attend our General Volunteer Orientation on Aug. 22 at 5 p.m. at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St. The Durham Literacy Center, Genesis Home, and Duke Hospital will be on hand to share their volunteer needs.
