DURHAM - Police have arrested a man they say shot another man several times and left him lying in a street Monday night.

Police have charged Terrell Thomas Inman of Matilene Avenue with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and second-degree kidnapping.

Police say Inman, 20, shot Jelani Kaumau Dandy, 24, who was found lying in the 600 block of North Driver Street, between Liberty and Southgate streets. Dandy, 24, remains in critical condition.

EMS workers took Dandy to Duke Hospital, a statement from police said.
