• The Salvation Army has an Angel Tree at Northgate Mall. Help staff the tree and answer questions of those who want to sponsor an angel.

• Glenn Elementary School is beginning a new program called the Lions’ Literacy Lair to improve students’ reading skills. Info and training sessions are Dec. 10 at 9:15 a.m., Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. or Jan. 11 at 3 p.m. Spend 45 minutes per week and help a child achieve more!

• The new year brings a new session of Citizen School at Neal Middle School. Share your hobby or passion with a crew of middle schoolers after school one day a week. The program begins Jan. 22.
