DURHAM - Two men were shot, one of them several times, when a dispute broke out Sunday afternoon at the Durham Green Flea Market on East Pettigrew Street, police said.

Both men were taken to Duke University Hospital while police fanned out through the area of East Pettigrew, Plum and Bacon streets in search of at least three suspects who reportedly fled in a late-model red sedan.

Police who arrived on the scene shortly after 1 p.m. found a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds and a 31-year-old man with a wound in his leg.

The flea market operates from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, according to its website.
