Most Durham County Government offices will close Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday holiday.
General Services• County Convenience Centers
The Durham County General Services Department will close its four solid waste and recycling convenience centers on Monday.
Durham County residents with a current 2013 solid waste decal can resume disposal of garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulky items on Tuesday beginning at 7 a.m.
• Roadside Recycling Collection
The Durham County roadside recycling collection (Schedule A) for the week of January 21 will not change due to the holiday. Customers scheduled for Monday’s collection will receive service on Monday as scheduled.
Department of Public HealthThe Durham County Department of Public Health will follow the Durham County Government Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday schedule.
For Public Health emergencies during the holiday closure, including communicable disease reporting, environmental health and suspected foodborne illnesses, please call 911 and ask for the Durham County Department of Public Health’s response team member on-call.
Durham County LibraryDurham County Library will also be closed on Monday, January 21, for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. The library will reopen on Tuesday, January 22 with regular hours.
Department of Social ServicesDurham County’s Department of Social Services will close its Main Street and Duke Street offices and the office of Durham’s Alliance for Child Care Access, at 1201 Briggs Ave., Suite 101, on Monday and reopen with normal hours of operation on Tuesday.
