The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University will host a scholarly symposium for the exhibition “Archibald Motley: Jazz Age Modernist,” beginning with a presentation on “Archibald Motley and Bronzeville” at 6 p.m. at 2001 Campus Drive. The symposium is free and open to anyone. nasher.duke.edu.

Sarah Sharma at The Regulator

The 21st annual Home Buyers Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Streets at Southpoint, 6910 Fayetteville Road.

'Cat in the Hat'

Northgate Mall will host "The Cat in the Hat" at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 at 1058 W. Club Blvd. Stadium 10 Theaters at the mall will screen a 30-minute animated "Cat in the Hat" movie at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 for $1.

Storytime

“The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss will be read to kids at 10:30 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 5400 New Hope Commons.

LEGO building

Barnes & Noble will host The LEGO Movie Building Event for ages 4 and older at 11 a.m. at 5400 New Hope Commons. Kids age 4 and older will build scenes from “The Lego Movie.”

Meet the Author: Leonard Pitts Jr.

Leonard Pitts Jr., author of “Freeman,” will read from and sign his novel at 3 p.m. at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St. durhamcountylibrary.org.
