Empty Bowls

Urban Ministries of Durham will host their eighth annual Empty Bowls fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Durham Convention Center, 301 W. Morgan St. Ticket prices range from $20 to $100. emptybowls14.eventbrite.com.

Swing Dance and Silent Auction

The 18th annual Swing Dance and Silent Auction with live music by the Chapel Hill High School Swing Orchestra and Jazz Band will be from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in the gymnasium in the Chapel Hill High School B Building, 1709 High School Road. Tickets can be bought early for $10 for students and $15 for adults through Chapel Hill High School band members and chapelhillband.org. Tickets at the door cost $12 for students and $17 for adults.

Goathouse Refuge fundraiser

The Goathouse Refuge will host a cat adoption awareness event and fundraiser from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Murphey School, 3717 Murphey School Road, Durham. The Venice-themed event will feature live music, dance and costumes. Tickets cost $45 in advance, $50 at the door, $10 for students and children under 12. 919-542-6815, goathouserefuge.org.

CROP Hunger Walk

The Inter-Faith Council for Social Service’s 28th annual CROP Hunger Walk will start with registration at 1:30 p.m. and the walk at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Carrboro Town Commons, 301 W. Main St. There will be half-mile, two-mile and four-mile routes. ifcweb.org.

Great Human Race

The Great Human Race will raise money for local nonprofits with a 10K race at 7:45 a.m., 5K race at 8 a.m. and a community walk at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, March 29, starting at Northgate Mall, 1058 W. Club Blvd., Durham. Participation in a race costs $32 and the walk is free. Registration is required. thegreathumanrace.org.

CORA Food Pantry’s Empty Bowls fundraiser will be from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the Chatham Mills Conference Center, 480 Hillsborough St. Tickets cost $30 in advance. corafoodpantry.org.

Color the Hill

The second annual Color the Hill 4K and Fun Run will raise money for the Academy of Information Technology of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, A Drink for Tomorrow and the SKJAJA Fund starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at UNC’s cross country course at Finley Fields. colorthehill.com.
