Horton High School Alumni Association scholarships

The Horton High School Alumni Association offers scholarships to descendants of Horton High School alumni and attendees who are in high school, college, university or graduate school during the 2014-2015 academic year. 919-444-9090, hhsaa.info.

Carolina Tiger Rescue donation matching

Tigers in America will match 50 percent of any donation of $500 or more to Carolina Tiger Rescue. Carolina Tiger Rescue, a nonprofit in Pittsboro, cares for 70 animals (tigers, leopards and more) and teaches about conservation. Dining for Dollars

Hickory Tavern will host Dining for Dollars, a dinner and silent auction, to raise money for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at 370-110 E. Main St., Carrboro. Tickets cost $30. chcmow.org.

Casino Night

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce 2014 Leadership Class will host Casino Night to raise money for The Arc of Orange County and Community Home Trust from 7-10 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at The Franklin Hotel, 311 W. Duck Race

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Sunrise Rotary Club’s Annual Duck Race will be Saturday, June 7, on the Eno River. Ducks cost $10 and the price for packs ranges from $50 for six to $1,000 for 175. The race will raise money for A Drink for Tomorrow Water Initiative, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Teachers’ Store, KIVA microlending projects and many more projects. Prizes include event tickets, gift cards and vacations. To participate, make out a check to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Sunrise Rotary and send it to 81 Oak Bluffs, Pittsboro, N.C. 27312.

Jewish Food Festival

The Levin Jewish Community Center will host a Jewish Food Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at 1937 W. Cornwallis Road, Durham. The festival will feature food from around the world. Triangle Golf Challenge

The Triangle Golf Challenge will begin with a reception, auctions and a concert by Tom Browne at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Hayti Heritage Center, 804 Old Fayetteville St., Durham. Reservations cost $50. bit.ly/1qIRntw.

‘Farmland’

The Carolina Theatre and FeedTheDialogueNC.com will screen the documentary “Farmland” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at 309 W. Morgan St., Durham. Tickets cost $5 and all proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. carolinatheatre.org.

‘The Great Gradsby’

Volunteers and donations are still needed for Project Graduation. Project Graduation, the 22nd annual graduation celebration for Chapel Hill and Carrboro senior high school students, will be from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Student Union at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This year’s theme is “The Great Gradsby.” Admission is free for seniors from Chapel Hill High School, East Chapel Hill High School, Carrboro High School and Phoenix Academy High School. projectgraduationchccs.org.

Father’s Day 5K

Maggiano’s Little Italy will host its second Father’s Day 5K to raise money for Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina with a one-mile fun run at 8:30 a.m., the 5K run and walk at 9 a.m. and a 100-yard kid’s run after the 5K on Sunday, June 15, at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham. Registration for the one-mile run costs $15 and the 5K costs $25. eastnc.wish.org.

Goodwill Community Foundation collects donations

The Goodwill Community Foundation will collect donations of gently used clothes or household items at Durham Bulls games at the Durham Athletic Park from Friday, June 20, through Sunday, June 22. Donations will be collected again from Friday, July 4, through Sunday, July 6, on Wednesday, July 16, and from Friday, Aug. 8, to Sunday, Aug. 10. gcfglobal.org.

Summer Camp Scholarship Fundraiser

The Peoples Channel will host a Summer Camp Scholarship Fundraiser at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Vimala’s Curryblossom Café, 431 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill. Students’ films from last year’s camp will be shown, students will talk about their experiences and there will be a preview of this year’s camp. Massage-a-thon
