Brian Dawson, a popular radio personality, will launch the "Community Take Back Tour" Friday, July 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at the John Avery Boys & Girls Club.

This will be one of the Triangle's biggest community events of the summer with participation from several area businesses, city officials, community leaders and activists, and the media. There will be a panel discussion, teen forum and youth activities.

The event will culminate with a free outdoor cookout at 2 p.m.
