The Durham and Duke University police departments have joined forces to fight hunger during the summer months when school cafeterias are closed and charitable food donations tend to decrease.
Items can be dropped off from today until July 30 at:
* The Food Bank, 708 Gilbert St.;
* Durham Police Department Headquarters, 505 W. Chapel Hill;
* Duke University Police Department, 502 Oregon St.;
* Duke Internal Auditing, 705 Broad St.;
* Duke University's East Campus, Community Service Center;
* Duke Women's Center, 306 Alexander Drive;
* Duke University's West Campus, Bryan Student Center;
* Durham Parks & Recreation - Campus Hills, 2000 S. Alston Ave.;
* Resident Life and Housing Services, 218 Alexander Ave.;
* BB&T, 505 S. Duke St.;
* BB&T, 1530 N. Gregson St.;
* BB&T, 4717 Hope Valley Road.
Items needed are: Peanut butter, canned meals (stews, soups, tuna, ravioli, etc.), canned fruits and vegetables, rice and cereal, paper products, hygiene items, infant diapers and formula, and elderly nutrition drinks.
