One World Market on Ninth Street, a nonprofit store devoted to the mission of fair trade, will celebrate its 15th anniversary today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.Everything in the store will be discounted 10 percent, and a number of free activities have been scheduled. One World Market has helped improve the lives of thousands of hard-working families in some of the world's poorest countries, said Laura Wendell, executive director. She said the store is Durham's best resource for fun, cross-cultural activities and fair trade information."We host dozens of exciting events in the store and visit Durham's schools, churches and community groups to spread the message that you can make a difference by buying fair trade," she said."One of our Pakistani rug makers said it beautifully," she said. " 'When we have jobs and our children are in school we have no time for making war. It is amazing how cheap is the price of peace.' "
