On Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18, the Durham Parks and Recreation Department will host the 39th Bimbe Cultural Arts Festival at the Durham Athletic Park. The theme will be "It's a Family Reunion." National recording artist "EU" will be the special guest.

The event will be held at Durham Athletic Park on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a Bimbe Marketplace for visual-arts exhibits and vendors, and an eclectic mix of music and dance celebrating African-American traditions.

A host of Pre-Bimbe activities will be held Monday through Friday, May 12-16.
