| 'I take the front pew in church and the back seat at Bible study class,' Donald Harris, 82, says with a wink and an impish smile that only an elder statesman can get away with while dressed in his Sunday best. A member of Bahama's Mt. Bethel Methodist Church congregation since his teenage years, Harris, who now resides in the Croasdaile retirement community, wouldn't dare be found anywhere else on Sunday morning. 'I get to socialize with dear friends and really you can never learn enough about the good word.' Plus, his younger brother is a retired preacher. And he readily admits there's still some competition, even in the realm of spirituality. 'Though he probably has me beat there,' he said as he flashed the sly grin of someone who has nothing to worry about. |
