| With the help of partners, Stella Angrist, 6, left, and Eleanor Dilworth, 5, do the 'wagon': a yoga pose created by a classmate during an afterschool program at Club Boulevard. Humanities Elementary school. Christine Fantini, who taught kindergarten and first grade at the school, started yoga in the extended day program four years ago. It's been such a popular activity that she,s had to add another day. Gaining flexibility and strength, the kids have become more aware of their own bodies, breathing and actions, she said. And she's positive the experience will carry over into their everyday lives, helping them treat themselves and others in a caring and peaceful way. |
