| Sporting the headdress of a Japanese dragon, Jalen Thompson-Johnson, 6, leads his first-grade class down the hallways of Club Boulevard Humanities Magnet School during a parade celebrating the Japanese New Year. Following the Gregorian calendar, the new year actually begins on the first of January, but this was a special celebration to end a month of hands-on activities and lessons that focused on Japan and its culture. Next stop on the map: Kenya. |
