The Durham Police Department's Project Safe Neighborhoods coordinator has added a new monthly newsletter to the Police Department's Web site at www.durhampolice.com/psn.

The newsletter written by coordinator Jennifer Snyder describes gun laws, Project Safe Neighborhoods activities and initiatives, and ways to prevent gun violence.

The Web site also has monthly information about gun crime arrests, police calls involving firearms and firearm seizures. This information can be found at www.durhampolice.com/psn/data.cfm and www.durhampolice.com/psn/psn_newsletters.cfm

"The community can support Project Safe Neighborhoods' efforts by becoming involved in its activities and recognizing that every citizen has a powerful voice against gun crime and violence in Durham," Snyder said.

Project Safe Neighborhoods is a federal comprehensive, strategic approach to combating gun crime by linking together local, state and federal law enforcement officials, prosecutors and citizens.
