It's big week at the Carolina Theatre, 309 W. Morgan St. Thursday night, Jewel, the emotive singer-songwriter with an unmistakable voice, will play a rare solo acoustic concert, her only North Carolina appearance. Showtime is 8 p.m., and tickets are $37-$49. Friday night won't be quite so mellow, as the Derek Trucks Band takes the stage at 8 p.m. Trucks is one of the world's great rock guitarists, and he has an all-star lineup backing him up.
