Durham police investigators are asking for information about an attempted armed robbery Sunday night at Subway, 2405 Chapel Hill Blvd.

Three males wearing bandanas over their faces entered the business around 8:15 p.m., jumped over the counter, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money. The suspects punched and kicked the employee and then tried unsuccessfully to open the cash register.

The suspects ran out of the business without taking anything and fled in a dark blue or black newer model Honda.

The suspects were described as males in their teens or early 20s wearing dark jackets with hoods, ball caps, gloves and bandanas.

Anyone with information is asked to call 560-4583, ext. 29364 or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and you never have to identify yourself.
