Here I was, all set to rant about 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) and his movie, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'."

Actually, it wasn't the movie that was going to be the object of my rave. After all, I haven't seen it and won't. I'm more of a Wallace and Gromit kind of guy and could care less about a thug who became a rap icon.

No, what I was going to get all fired up about was some posters advertising the movie. They were plastered on a condemned building at the intersection of Alston and Angier avenues in East Durham.

On one of the posters, Mr. Cent is cradling a baby. Then, on another poster, 50's back is turned and a menacing semi-automatic is peeking up from his waistband.

Come on, Fiddy, ain't that a bit much? Was that baby on someone's hit list and you were hired to protect him?

Before I sat down to write, I went to make sure I was properly describing the posters. But when I got there, they had been replaced with -- are you ready for this? -- posters of Kenny Chesney, he of "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" fame.

So, there you go. Apparently, someone didn't want to me take Fiddy behind the woodshed so they took the bee right out of my bonnet, and replaced it with a country and western singer. Go figure.
