All Friends of Transit...
I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to let you know about an important meeting about the future of the Triangle and our community.
This past summer, the North Carolina General Assembly approved legislation that provides an historic opportunity to improve the quality of life of our region. This legislation allows citizens to choose to make new investments in transit and other badly needed transportation infrastructure.
If we make the most of this opportunity, I am confident we can make our communities more livable and sustainable, sparking economic development and improving quality of life for ourselves and our children.
But to get there, we need your help to shape this vision for the future and build support for it in our community. That's why I hope you will join us the evening of Nov. 4
th at 7 p.m. at the Eno River Unitarian Church at 4907 Garrett Road in Durham for our first Public Information workshop. We'll be joined by people from all parts of our community who will come together to discuss this new opportunity and begin to build the partnerships we'll need to make it a reality.
Please forward this message to anyone else in the community who you think might have an interest, and if you haven't done so thus far, please go to our Web site:
www.durhamorangefriendsoftransit.org/ and sign the petition in support of a 21
st century transit network.
Thanks for your interest in improving transit in the Triangle, and I hope to see you there.
Daniel Jewell
