This letter was sent to Mayor Bil Bell and the Durham City Council:
I write on behalf of the Northgate Park Neighborhood Association to thank you for listening to our concerns about the stream restoration project in Northgate Park.
We met with Paul Wiebke and Sandra Wilbur, and they have sent a letter to the relevant state staff expressing our desires to "swap out" some modest easement areas and to alter some of the plantings so that we can maintain good sight lines. In addition, the letter says that the City of Durham is willing to cover the extra costs of a survey and some of the plantings, should that be necessary. We are truly thankful for this letter and your willingness to back it up with funding should that be necessary!
We appreciate your concern and the work of the stormwater staff on our behalf.
